missing her already

Today we shipped Sarah off for a week of camp. I know that she will enjoy the week away from us even though they wouldn’t let her take her ipod. I keep trying to remind myself that Sarah is the most smart-mouthed, argumentative child in our family. However, she is also funny, insightful and extremely helpful. She is the only one I trust to watch Evan long enough for me to take a bath and the only one who will give a complete explanation when I ask “what happened?” Sarah is fun to have around with her laughter and comments that are too clever to be from a child, but too ridiculous to be heard from an adult. When any of the children are away, there is a giant gaping hole in our little universe and things just don’t feel right again until everyone is back under our roof. No matter how I try, I just can’t talk myself out of missing Sarah and worrying about her. Have fun this week Sarah. I love you.

  1. My 7 year old is exactly like this.

She is the one who makes me grumble and yell the most but she is a very cool kid.
