if it’s not broken, don’t fix it

If you are feeling numb or traumatized after tonight’s new version of “The Year Without a Santa Claus”, you can listen to the original hot and cold tunes and try to go to your happy place. A place in time when bad Rankin-Bass animation was good and Christmas cartoons were eagerly anticipated every year. A time without YouTube, DVDs and instant gratification. A time when our parents dressed us in polyester. A time when Michael McKean was Lenny and NOT the Snow Miser!

  1. I really wish they would STOP making all my childhood classic cartoons into these horrible live action movies. They stink… ALL of them. The Grinch, The Cat in the Hat, and now this monstrosity! Just make them STOP! Please!

  2. That was….like watching a car accident in very slow motion.

I must not watch – but I cannot look away..

Truth to tell I taped it so if the Heat Miser/Snow Miser was any good I could watch it again. Those two (the originals) are two of my favorites. Harvey Feirstein….*shudder* I like Michael McKean, though.

I knew, when in the first 10 minutes or so, when a kid says, “Santa SUCKS!” we had a big ole’ winner…

    Just gouge my eyes, now….
