Glasses sales shouldn't feel like used car lots when there are children or teens involved. We knew Amy had eye issues when she was Evan's age, but neither he nor Noah have any signs of problems. Sarah is nearsighted, but wears contacts and her eyes are healthy. Tommy has the same vision issues as Sarah, but he also has Nystagmus that I always thought was part of his Aspergers symptom buffet. Amy is the first one to have a real problem. Since she refuses to wear her glasses that she was so excited about before the BAD clerk, I don't expect an improvement when we return in the spring.

"Lazy Pirate Therapy" Hahaha!

I had an exhausting experience at Dr Bizers today too. The guy who was helping us made a big deal about how bad Damon's eyes were (-5.0 and -5.75) and how he'd need this that and the other when he got into his 30s. And then he suggested the lenses we had left with last year where too small and maybe that is why the spring on the side had broken. I wondered why the ___ they had let us leave with glasses that didn't quite fit. I didn't notice but you'd think a professional would. When given the choice of wider frames, I think the guy almost wanted my son to walk out of there with plastic grandpa glasses. I swear, don't these people realize how fragile the egos of younger people are? I said, "Um, no, he may say to you that these are ok because he wants to be polite but he won't wear these." Then I nearly had a heart attack when I realized he only gets new frames every 24 months on Cover TN Kids. Luckily, somehow, we ended up only having to pay $25 and getting out of there with some frames I think he will wear.

I know Evan is probably too young but do the older 4 have bad eyes? Having to go through those sort of things 5x exhausts me just thinking about it.

(oh yes and the guy was sure to tell us that I had given my son my bad near-sighted genes. Thanks Mr, I didn't feel bad enough)
