I read the article about Lovejoy. Times have changed a bit, but not enough. A presidential candidate (who ended up being elected by a technicality) encouraged racists and other haters to vilify the free press. Many reporters need security, especially when they cover certain people who do not want what they do to be seen in the light of day.
