We all went to the pool for a while and then to run at a park. The dog is exhausted and sleeping. The children are surly and grubby. Doug is the same as he’s been all day. I am ready to get everyone settled in to bed so I can match sock pairs, my least favorite chore in the world.
10 to 1 within the next 5-8 years a company starts putting RID chips into socks to help pair them and associate them to a member of the family.
If I had an angel investor, I could start designing this now. It wouldn’t take much effort beyond that to design a dryer that sorts the socks for you. Self-sorting socks, 8-12 years from now.
As much as I loathe trying to pair off nearly identical but different socks, I think that technology needs to focus on things more relevant than socks.
