Sarah asked me to mail a letter but I’m a bad Mommy, so I read it instead.
Dear Santa,
I have been very good this year. I baby-sit my sister all the time and I do all my homework. There are 2 really special things I want this year and I know they’re hard to get: a cell phone & a boyfriend.
Sincerely,
Sarah
age 11
P.S.
About the boyfriend: I am in middle school, so I know that I am old enough for a boyfriend to go to the dances with.
Isn’t that sad? I wouldn’t go through the teen years again for anything. If I could, I’d bribe some middle schooler into dancing one dance with her next week.
Awwww… Middle school is hard. Mia (14) just got dumped by her first ‘boyfriend’ after just four days. She has been crying all night.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Wish I was Santa Claus…
Boys can be cruel, but don’t give in and bribe some kid, that would be the bad thing.
Eventually it will all work out for her, but let her do it all by herself.
I find it funny that 11 year olds want cell phones… I’m 17 and barely use mine.
I know just what you mean. It’s so painful to have to sit back and watch the teen years unfold knowing how painful they can be.
Nice that she still believes in Santa enough to write a letter to him. Geez they grow up so quickly don’t they?
Ohh! Too cute! But, it’s not sad at all. She just wants Santa to send her the very best boyfriend. Can’t settle for anything less. 😉
Sarah told me today that there is a dance in two weeks. I asked, “what boy are you going to invite?” She replied, “uh, it doesn’t work that way! The boy has to ask you.” I said there’s no rule that says that. She repliued, “There’s a special dance for that.” I said, “Saddie Hawkins but that doesn’t mean that’s the only time you can ask boys out…”
What am I doing?!
That really is too cute. Wow. They grow up fast, don’t they?
That’s just too cute.
Oh, and good luck with her! 🙂
That’s too much!!! You’re right, I wouldn’t want to be a teenager again.
