At yesterday’s 2 1/2 hour IEP we reviewed the test results of school psychologists and outside experts brought in just for testing and evaluation. The result of their countless hours of effort was the determination that Tommy has Aspergers and all of his behaviors are caused by his place on the Autistic spectrum. I wonder how many tax dollars it took to determine something that was diagnosed 10 long years ago? I marvel at the amount of time we waste on pointless meetings and paperwork. What would YOUR day be like if you cut out bureaucracy?
I didn’t wnat you tuning in for new eps and being disapponted….
I guess I didn’t pay close attention to the promo spots. Thanks for the heads-up. At least I know Monk will be back soon.
It boggles the mind, doesn’t it? Imagine how many kids would actually be helped when they need it if the school system could get their act together. (Edited for language. This is one topic that makes me steam).

OK Cathy, I agree. But the whole diagnosis of AS can often be slippy especially if your child is moving through the spectrum (just like all those ‘shadowtraits’ dad eh, wink wink)who may fit the AS label at say 5 but by the time he or she hits 9 looks like a bright kid with some annoying habits and terrible motor skills. That said, label or non-label what counts is his education–the paperwork does complicate everything for sure.
This is totally off the subject here…but you posted in my blog that Monk started up again this week. Actually, new episodes don’t start until Jan 21. Just thought I’d let ya know.
