There are many more articles and websites anti Wal-Mart.
Why I do shop at Wal-Mart:
They are cheap and it’s easier to buy groceries (canned goods and sodas), toys, DVDs, cleaning supples and home repair items in one stop. I discourage everyone from buying their nasty looking irradiated meat. Fruits, veges and meats I get from regular grocery or a specialty grocer.
I used to work at Sam’s (owned by Wal-Mart) and Cory worked at Wal-Mart for years. Sam’s used to show us these videos for “training” (I call it indoctrination). The videos were how you shouldn’t sign up to be in a union because Wal-Mart was so “employee friendly” and unions only hurt their work. They are the least “employee friendly” corporation in the world (well, maybe other than the Federal Government). Cory got the shaft after trying to go back to Wal-Mart in the Mgmt. training program.
Wal-Mart is the world’s largest employer, bringing in almost $370 billion last year (#1 on the Fortune 500, #2 was $36 billion) and yet they have dropped their Chiropractic coverage for their employees … that is why I don’t shop there. America’s foundation is the Mom and Pop stores and if Wal-Mart manages to erode that, I feel we are eroding away at what made America a great country.
