The bodies of Knoxville indigents are often sent to the Body Farm. We have no health or life insurance. I shouldn’t care what happens to my body but I am vain enough to ask that if my body has to rot in a car trunk or under a pile of leaves, could I please have some clothes on my body?
Ewww
I do not think I would like to leave my body to something like that. They are doing good work, but still.. ick!
When I was in school at UT, I had a class taught by Dr. Bass, who I believe started the body farm. He would bring in photos and tell us stories about forensic cases that he had worked on. It was actually pretty cool to see what they learn from it. Plus at Palmer, people would donate their bodies for our gross anatomy labs or the “unclaimed” bodies were given to the labs.
