I may not bethrilled with some of the results of Knoxville politics, but at least I don’t still live in Memphis. WHY did he win? Why did ANYONE vote for him?

Brilliant song–I love it. I remember this song from my childhood. Cooper wrote such smart, provocative totally genius rock songs. And it’s truer today than ever before.
You only have part of the story… He won because the Republican party wasn’t going to field anyone in that election. They conceded that to the Democrats. This nut-job comes along and is the only Republican in the primary! The party tried a write in campaign, but it failed because too many losers on both sides feel the need to make a choice in each option on the ballot, regardless of how uninformed they are.
Let this be a lesson for November: “DO NOT EVER VOTE A STRAIGHT TICKET!”
