Before we became parents, my husband and I talked about minimizing our kids’ exposure to commercial “characters”. Ha! That idea didn’t last all that long after we met our kids. I would guess it is possible–but not easy–especially if you have kids in public school, have a television in your house, and ocasionally enter stores that have toy departments.
