I did not say “from Boy Scouts” 🙂 But yes, I am pretty sure that with a pocket knife and a lighter that I could stand my own in the wilderness for an extended time.

I’m thinking that AT posted this in the wrong comment box (the risks of reading multiple blogs open in separate tabs).
Now…Rather than focusing on the “stuck” part… as I read this the thing that sticks out in my mind is that they missed their exit and decided to take a different road they found on a map. When you are lost… in the snow… in the mountains… Go the hell back and do not venture forward into the freakin’ unknown. Just seems like common sense to me. Then there is no need to depend on Doug’s Scouting skills.
