Hey!  I actually have a Waltons story from my brain archives and it’s not that I’ve seen every episode of the show (shut up Danny!).  My high school English teacher was Len Hamner who was related to Earl Hamner (he was her Great-Uncle or something) and the Waltons were really the Hamners.  Ms. Hamner told my class that she once accidently cut off her finger with a chainsaw.  We all said “eww” and someone asked her what she did next.  She cocked her head and said, “I picked it up and drove myself to the hospital.  Didn’t you ever watch The Waltons?  We’re tough.”
