Sunday music blathering

My parents spent the weekend cleaning out their garage. I can’t imagine why they ever kept some of the stuff. Besides giving me an idea of something I can do when I am stuck home without a car all summer, it made me think about old music. I may still have some of those old 8-tracks in my CD collection, but I’ve also started a mental list of music I could happily go the rest of my life without hearing again. I won’t miss Whitesnake, Journey, Motley Crue, Scorpions and most of the “hair” bands. I could easily live without the “boy” bands, like Boyz II Men, Backstreet Boys and N’Sync. All of the thrash metal can be demagnetized and put in the landfill. Groups with one or two songs that keep them out of the trash pile are an all together different list but it starts with Heart and Styx. Don’t get me started on the musicians who talk instead of sing that Sarah loves and adores. I’m sure the real problem is that I spent the Saturday mornings of my childhood listening to music like this:
