The middle and elementary schools will spend all of this week “preparing” for the TCAPs. Preparing includes such useful things as lectures on how to correctly fill in the circle with a number 2 pencil. Next week will be spent taking the TCAPs. Instead of just spending two days testing the students in order to get statistics on what they have learned, the schools waste two full weeks on this. Maybe the administration needs to be tested.
Ah, yes… the wonders of No Child Left Behind wipes out yet another two weeks of class in yet another school system in the effort to answer the question, “Is our Children Learning?”
