take the kids to work
In honor of “Take Your Children to Work Day” I think I’ll let Amy and Evan play in the basement while Doug tries to program. Bwa-ha-ha-ha

This week Evan called 911. I was embarrassed and apologetic. It could have been worse. I know a mom whose 4-y-o called 911 because “My Mommy says I’m in really big trouble and I’m supposed to call 911 when I’m in big trouble so I’m calling 911.”
Doug and I have started a google calendar for our family activities. We are still adding to it, but if anyone wants access, let me know.
“Did Amy get her period too?” As Amy is pitching a screaming tantrum in the back of the house while Sarah mopes about how unfair we are.
We had a wonderful day at the parade yesterday and I posted some of the pictures on Flickr. Cranky Sarah actually participated. Noah made a new friend and played hard. Amy didn’t like the waiting part but cried that she wanted more parade when it was finished. Evan ended up with a bit of sunburn […]

Amy and Evan’s Nanny in Ohio sent them very cute nap mats today. They are colorful, soft and very cleverly designed. Amy actually slept on hers, which is a huge accomplishment since she rarely naps. I do have to wonder about the stew-pid name the company gave this product.
A Tennessee judge took 7 teenagers away from their parents yesterday. They had all participated in a series of bomb threats that caused chaos in the school system and a copycat at my daughter’s middle school. There is no question that they made horrible choices and need consequences for their actions. Permanently expelling them from […]
Like most parents of small children, we have a Little Tikes climbing toy. It has large circle cut-outs for children to climb on and through. It takes Evan less than 3 seconds to climb to the second story of the climbing toy. If the holes were blocked he could actually play up there without everyone […]
