My brother is enjoying his first winter up north. It is 51 degrees here and the mountains shelter us from most weather ugliness. I would enjoy a good snow once or twice a winter but being snowed in from November until March doesn’t sound very fun.

It’s amazing how quickly we’ve gone from a dusting to 4+ inches.
I hope the children have snowsuits, boots and all the other northerner wardrobe requirements.

Seven years in Iowa, and the lowest wind chill we experienced was -61. Silk long underwear saved my life.

“…being snowed in from November until March doesn’t sound very fun” – You’re right, it isn’t! We’re living it and it’s not pretty. Just this morning, I expressed the desire to hibernate. Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up in April and see all the snow gone?
