Right now, Sarah is at the eighth grade dance at Calhouns on the River. I hope no bodies float past the pier tonight. Sarah wore a dress that is shorter than she has worn in the past. It highlights her new curves* without showing anything. She wore cute sandals and a teeny bit of eye makeup. She and her best friend got pedicures yesterday. I fixed her hair this evening. We dropped the girls at Macaroni Grill and let them have their meal unsupervised. They called when they were paying the check and we picked them up and drove them to the dance.
Other 13 and 14 year-old students spent their day getting full face makeup, salon hair, manicures and pedicures. The girls were dressed in everything from party dresses to floor length gowns with stiletto shoes. The boys wore everything from pants and a shirt to tuxedos. There were half a dozen stretch limousines in the parking lot.
I am very happy with the choices Sarah made for the evening.
*The curves on top came in gradually. She went to bed one night and when she woke up the next morning, her booty had developed. It made her jeans go from fitting to completely inappropriate in less than 24 hours.
*sigh*
Good job, Mom!
Very pretty – and appropriate. Not gaudy. Not garish. Not too emo.
She looked wonderful! I hope all the girls had a great time.
Sarah looked great. Very appropriate. She looked better than all those girls that were way overdressed.
She looked fantastic! I hope my daughter has that kind of fashion sense when she gets to be that age.
Hope that she had a wonderful night.
Alls well that ends well.
