I told the boys their fish died and suggested they give the tank a complete scrubbing. They insisted that the fish was only sleeping. “His gills are still moving, Mom.” The next morning, all that was left of the sleeping fish was a skeleton. We now have a tank full of well-fed snails. Are snails a pet? I don’t mean to sound cruel, but I’d really like to “set the snails free” and clean the tank. Then, we can put a few new fish in there. On the other hand, I guess I can get dead fish for the snails when I buy dead mice for the snake.
