  1. I have never seen such a properly geared child. I am glad I am not the only parent who takes potential brain injuries seriously.

  2. That’s all Amy’s doing. She watched her brother take a spill without his helmet and decided she didn’t want that happening to her.

    Two days ago Evan took off on his tricycle as I was removing Amy’s training wheels. He had removed his helmet and started up the neighbor’s drive. I hollered to him that he was going to get hurt without his helmet and I ran toward him as he started rolling backwards, flipped the tricycle, and hit his unprotected head on the asphalt. Fortunately he didn’t even get a scratch and it was a very slow wreck and a light hit.

    They both gear up to the hilt now.
