Amy gets stuck on things and likes them to repeat. Sometimes I give in and allow her to eat the same thing for two days. Sometimes I deliberately prevent her from wearing the same gown night after night. I feel like I am enabling when I participate in the obsessive behaviors and I feel like I am denying her a feeling of stability when I interrupt the behaviors. Either way, I worry.
Isn’t just great (insert eye roll here), when parenting seems to provide two options, neither of which are completely satisfactory.
