dinner guests

I think Willie Nelson would be fun company.  He and Doug could talk taxes and conspiracies.  I always thought Robin Williams would be a good dinner companion but that was before I had children.

good marketing

After the movie (which was about 15 minutes too long for a 4-year-old girl), we went to Tar-jay for laundry detergent and listened to another family debating whether their very small child should get the Mater or Lightning t-shirt.  Then, we went to Krogrrr for dinner ingredients and listened to two elementary-aged children squealing with […]

Grandaddy says

Cathy – “Dad, do you want to go with us to see “Cars” tomorrow?” Grandaddy – “What kind of cars?” Doug – “The kind that talk.” Update – The credits are the very BEST part of the movie. Toy Car Story, bwa ha ha!

I’m a Disney Mombie

I know I complained about how tired I am of listening to the songs from that other Disney channel movie, but I am really enjoying the Rascal Flatts video for Cars. When I found out Disney was making a movie for the Nascar crowd, I rolled my eyes and decided we would wait for the […]

because we’re comic book geeks

We are going to see X-Men 3 and are seriously excited about the DLP. Update – We liked it, a LOT.  Noah got a little upset and weepy over some plot developments, but he was never scared.  There is more violence than the previous movies, but it is not more than you would see on […]

background noise

Doug works in the basement of our house, so I am comfortable with his mood music drifting up the stairs, intermingled with his incense vapors. Most frequently heard is Jimmy Buffet, Bob Marley or James Taylorish tunes. Yesterday I heard one of my old Carly Simon cd’s. I have no idea what kind of ‘Doug […]
