Longest day of the year? Really? Astronomers must not have children. My days fly by so quickly I sometimes feel dizzy. I suspect that Sarah’s anticipation of her birthday party tomorrow DOES make this feel like the longest day of the year to her.

While making the evening taxi runs, I noticed that despite the pouring rain, the automatic sprinklers at the car lots were all on full blast. Wouldn’t a rain sensor that over-rides the timer be more environmentally and economically intelligent?

Could you please explain why our forecast says the air quality is good when there is a mucky haze hanging so low you need your headlights just to drive during the daytime. I guess it was okay to breathe it today.

I know it’s against the rules to blog about the weather, but it’s so hot in our house right now that I’m seriously weighing the risk of warping my children even further by running around naked.

Alright East TN weather forecasters, I’ll give you one more chance. You say it’s going to snow and ice, so I’ll run buy milk and bread (or whatever). But, this is your very last chance. If I don’t see some winter weather, I’m going to stop reading, watching or believing local weather ‘experts’.
